1. Nothing is free.
Were you offered “free” shipping?
Did they say that since they are local, they will just drop it off?
Question- How did that promo company get the items?
That’s right!
The products were delivered to them. Who paid for that? You did.
Your vendor just factored that delivery price into the cost of the product so they could say “free shipping.”
2. Don’t buy it.
When was the last time your vendor told you not to order a particular item?
Likely never.
They don’t want to offend you and prevent a sale that brings them profit.
BUT the point of purchasing any promo item is to create a WOW factor with your prospective customers.
You deserve to know if a different approach would be better. Even if you decide to stay with your original plan, wouldn’t you rather hear the vendor’s honest opinion?
3. Buy less items.
This wouldn’t make sense for any company to say...right?
After all, more promo means more brand awareness. Maybe.
But what are you known for? CHEAP products that carry little value or appeal?
You would be better off purchasing a smaller variety of items of higher quality at a higher quantity.
Buying a higher quantity of the items allows your price per piece to drop, saving you money. This will allow you to buy more valuable items to impress your prospective customers.
4. Less expensive shirts are equally effective.
If your vendor is encouraging you to buy Bella+Canvas, Comfort Colors or Next Level shirts, these options are nice but they are also expensive, increasing the vendor’s profit.
There are other shirts that are high quality, super soft, and less expensive that your prospective customers will love and wear frequently while saving you money and stretching your budget dollars to do more.
5. Fully custom products in your pantone colors are possible, impactful, and can be done affordably.
Other vendors typically don’t have the resources to do it or may not be able to do it affordably. At JDM, we have the resources and ability!
