Why Your Bottom Students Should Be Your Top Priority

  • Jun 18, 2020

Who are your bottom students? Why should they be your top priority?

Your bottom students are:

  • the students at the bottom of your funnel- your accepted and deposited students.
  • the students it hurts most if they decide to attend a different college.

So how many promo dollars are you spending per student at the bottom of your funnel?

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matthew 6:21.

Valued prospective students become matriculated students. Period.

Why?

  • Consumers spend their money based on how they feel. Then, they justify their purchases with logic.
  • Likewise, students who feel more cared for by your college will chose to be your student.

Show your accepted and deposited students you care about them.

A Promo Myth:

More promo products = more inquiries = more enrolled students.

NOT TRUE!

You do not need promotional products to drive inquiries into your funnel. Most inquiries come through your website.

If you’re worried about reducing swag at college fairs and other venues, don’t be!

Why?

  • How valuable is an inquiry card that was filled out JUST to get some swag?
  • The inquiries you may lose were never going to move through your funnel anyway.

As a result, an increased conversion percentage of inquiries will move through the funnel.
